From Fear To Faith

Let freedom ring
Let freedom ring
Like a melody in harmony.
However there is a bellow
Crying out from my people
Hearts and minds.
They are kings and queens
And don’t know it.
Have intelligent minds
But don’t show it.
Have hopes and dreams buried
Deep down in their being
But don’t grow it.

It is the chains of bondage
Passed down from generation to generation.
It has my people
In a prison that has no
Concrete or Steele
And a heart made of stone
That can’t feel.
These chains are not ones
That you can see.
One of these chains is called fear
False
Evidences
Appearing
Real

Fear to step in or step out.
Fear to see your dreams carried out.
Fear to embrace and love all people.
Fear to believe that anything is achievable.
Fear to in the littlest of things to give thanks.
Fear to …. You fill in the blanks.

The wear and tear of the oppression
Leave an impression that
Can last for many years.
I heard a pastor once say that the grave is
One of the wealthiest places on earth.
It is filled with all the visions, dreams
And potential of many people
But it was buried with them.

With the living it is just the same
Because the only difference between
A rut and a grave
Is its dimensions.

Wake up my people!
Open your eyes and ears
To hear the bellow crying out
From the depths of your soul.
You got to cry out Lord save me
Because I can’t do this on my own.

It takes faith to overcome fear.
Faith to step up and step out.
Faith to see your dreams carried out.
Faith to embrace all people.
Faith to believe that anything is achievable.
Faith to give thanks.
Faith to… you fill in the blanks.
